About Laia
Field-based photography, guiding and science communication from the Arctic
Laia Soler is a Svalbard-based nature photographer, Arctic nature guide and science communicator working across the polar environment year-round. Her work focuses on the relationship between wildlife, landscapes and the people studying and navigating the rapidly changing Arctic ecosystems.
Through photography and field-based storytelling, she creates narratives grounded in observation, ethics and environmental realism.
Her photography is informed by extended time in the field observing wildlife behaviour, weather patterns and landscape processes, with particular interest in how Arctic ecosystems function and how people move through them responsibly.
Working across photography, guiding and science communication, she combines field experience with visual storytelling to explore relationships between wildlife, people, science and the environment.
