LAIA SOLER

Photography · Guiding · Science Communication

Visual stories from the field.
Photography, guiding, and science communication rooted in lived experience in polar and remote environments.

Based in Svalbard, working worldwide.

A white bird with black markings on its head stands on the ground in a snow-covered landscape. The background features a snowy mountain slope with shades of grey and white.

Documenting life, ice and remote environments through photography, field expertise and ethical engagement.

Alongside photography, I offer personalised private field guiding in Svalbard for those seeking ethical access to Arctic environments, grounded in professional certifications, local expertise and field experience.

My work increasingly bridges photography, field guiding and science communication, translating complex Arctic processes into accessible visual and narrative forms.

About Laia

A woman (Laia) in outdoor gear holding a camera with a long lens on a boat, with glaciers and water in the background.

Laia is an Arctic wildlife and landscape photographer based in Svalbard.

With a background in biology and conservation, she works across land, sea and ice documenting polar environments and the species that depend on them. Her approach is shaped by long-term field experience, patience and respect for natural systems.

I offer a limited number of private, field-based experiences each season. These are shaped by weather, wildlife behaviour, safety considerations and light. They are designed for photographers, videographers and serious nature enthusiasts seeking meaningful time in the Arctic.
